Girl Gone International

When I moved to Amsterdam I stumbled upon the most fabulous group called "Girl Gone International". Aimed at expat and traveling women in their 20s and 30s, GGI hosts fun and safe social meet-ups in cities all over the world. Check out the website here, and follow the links to find a GGI group in your city.

I love this group, and through it found courage to host my own Private Library evening (with only GGIs invited), where like-minded book worms would bring and swap their English novels for others. Through this I found two very special GGIs in particular, whom I'm building fantastic friendships with. So grateful!

Another wonderful thing that happened was having the opportunity to be a part of the Girl Gone International 2013 Christmas Gift Guide. The fantastic online guide is here, complete with direct links for purchase, and I've gotten so many great gift ideas. I'm particularly eyeing off the box of postcards on page 13 (€2,50), an interesting-looking e-guide to Housesitting by fellow GGIs Jessica Ainlay and Dani Heinrich (page 32, €9,26) and the personalised classic novel on page 18 (€20,89) (imagine, Nissa'a Adventures in Wonderland! So fun.).

Fellow expats - have you found a meet-up group in your travel adventures? Is it something you'd do? It took me a while to become involved, and I'm so very glad I did!

You can find my Tea on Christmas cards on Page 27!
