I just stumbled upon the most fantastic Picasa album! I was googling 1920s dress pictures, followed the links on a beautiful fashion illustration and ended up on a site filled with digitally reproduced original patterns. Some of them are really quite complicated in their geometry - perhaps a bit too difficult for my brain just yet! - but there are others that are quite beautiful in their simplicity. It must have been such an amazing shift when tailors starting cutting fine fabrics on the bias and the draped styles began emerging. I'm ready to get trying some of these! On the next clear day I'll go to the fabric market and see what silky fabrics I can find.
Enjoy! And if you end up using one of the patterns, please let me know your results.
